This precious little angel is the youngest of three siblings and such a delight at this Gilbert Newborn Photography session. She was an absolute joy to photograph and the sweetest baby sister this family could have hoped for! Not only was she beautiful, she had the sweetest temperament. Her expressions were so adorable, with most being peaceful and delicate, but she also gave us the cutest little pout! Because she was so easygoing, we did a lot of different setups with no complaints from her. Her finished portraits perfectly captured her dainty beauty and her serene nature.
All of her portraits were done with my characteristic soft light and luxurious, neutral wraps and blankets. I find this is the best way to let the personality and individuality of the newborns I photograph shine through so that I can create a unique work of art. I started with a tone-on-tone cream wrap and fur to emphasize her soft newborn skin. It was reminiscent of a cloud, which was fitting for such an angel! I also chose to contrast that with some plain and simple backgrounds to put the entire focus on her perfect, tiny features, from her irresistible toes to her wispy eyelashes. Her sweet little baby cheeks were so kissable! I used simple flower headbands in some of her pictures to highlight her femininity without overwhelming her. Simple lace and gauze wraps were the perfect, understated accessories. Finally, I used a rustic wooden drawer and a delicate blue blanket to contrast with her soft perfection. By working with her to achieve natural poses and using simple, neutral elements, I was able to present her family with a variety of artistic, custom portraits they will always cherish.
Photographing newborns always takes me back to when my children were that small. They change so quickly at that age. It seems like they are different every day. Capturing these fleeting moments in photographs can bring back these precious times long after they are just a memory.
