I was so thrilled to welcome this sweet family back for this precious newborn photography session once their new addition arrived! We had a fabulous time during the maternity session, so I knew this was going to be a lot of fun. I love being able to watch my clients’ families grow and change. This darling little newborn boy was such an angel to photograph. His big brother was very proud of him and fascinated by his little toes! I think the baby may take after his brother and have those irresistible curls as well. Both boys are so adorable and sure to keep Mom busy! The love and connection between this mom and her sons brought joy to my heart.
I used gentle light and kept the props neutral and simple to showcase the perfection of his tiny features. Luxurious wraps in soft gray and blue tones complimented his flawless newborn skin. I also used some classic white linens to symbolize the purity and innocence of this ephemeral stage. By photographing him in natural positions with minimal props, I was able to create personalized fine art portraits that maintain a timeless feel and won’t become dated with passing trends. I always encourage my families to dress in classic, neutral clothing as well. This mom did a fantastic job, and the whole family looked connected, stylish, and effortlessly coordinated without the dreaded matchy-matchy look that can plague so many family photos. It’s the lavish attention to details that makes the type of custom portraits I create worth the investment. There is nothing in this world more important than the love of family.
