Nothing is as much fun as watching an adorable one year old smash their hands, face, and other body parts into a large delicious cake during their first year birthday photography session. Their wonder at the texture and their delight in the taste are all part of the parent’s joy as they watch their child explore their world.
This 1-year-old photo session was no exception. The birthday girl arrived full of smiles and ready to go. Before diving into the cake, we captured some photos in her beautiful dresses. She loved exploring the balloons and the props. She explored so much, she tried crawling away a couple of times. I loved her delicate brown hair and how cute she looked with her different colored bows.
My favorite outfit was shirt and multicolored tutu that she wore for her cake-smashing pictures. They were colorful and captured the excitement of the moment. It was nice to catch the wonderment on her face as she gazed at us with that look of “Can I really dive in?”. But it didn’t take long for her to start digging her fingers in. I captured some fabulous shots of her fingers all covered in cake. Of course, as we went along, it was fingers, face, arms, and legs. At one point, she tried to crawl over and share her treats with us.
It was so much fun to capture this milestone. This treasured keepsake will provide years of fun memories for both the parents and this little lady as she gets older. I can’t wait to work with this family again as we capture her future milestones.
